Broad Outline Of The Registration Process
| Step 1: | The applicant reads the Overview Document, Applicant
Handbook and the relevant Competency Framework document. |
| Step 2: | If the applicant considers that they have sufficient qualifications,
knowledge, skills and experience to meet the competency framework, they prepare the documentary evidence as
described in the Applicant Handbook. |
| Step 3: | After completing an Application for Competency Assessment (Form 09A)
and payment of the competency assessment Application and Assessemment Fees as per the current Schedule of Fees, the Board appoints an Assessor who
will examine the documentary evidence against the Competency Framework and advise the applicant whether it is
acceptable or whether it needs some additional information.
- If application does not meet the criteria, the Assessor should provide feedback regarding those criteria which have not been met. The assessor may also consult with the Board and advise the applicant of alternative process, if available. |
| Step 4: | Applicant completes a Professional Assessment Project (PAP) as per the
Competency Assessment Policy. |
| Step 5: | The applicant completes appropriate Application for Registration Form,
attaches a recent Certificate of Competency (must not be more than 12 months old), then lodges the documentation with the
Surveyors Board (SBQ) and pay the applicable fees. |
| Step 6: | Chief Examiner and/or the Registration Convenor will review the application
and arrange for an interview (if not already conducted). |
| Step 7: | A decision will be made at the next
Board Meeting. |
| Step 8: | The applicant will be advised of the Board decision
and if approved, arrangements will be made to present the certificate at the following Board Meeting or posted to the applicant.
